Winter Vacation Activities Launched Across Argentina and Uruguay

The municipality of Iglesia in San Juan, Argentina, announced the 2026 "Descubrí Iglesia en las Vacaciones de Invierno" programme, offering families free cinema screenings, music, dance and rock festivals, nature walks, cultural circuits and food fairs at multiple community venues throughout July.

Salto’s Intendencia in Uruguay invited children, teens and families to a week‑long schedule of free recreational, sporting and cultural events at Plaza Treinta y Tres from 29 June to 5 July, including workshops, concerts, cinema, rock‑band contests and games.

In Ushuaia, Argentina, the Instituto Municipal de Deportes opened registration for its Winter Workshops for children aged 6‑14. The courses, running in July and August, cover alpine skiing and mountain recreation. Registration is open from 29 June to 3 July via an online portal or in‑person at two municipal sports centres. President Liliana Gavilán said the workshops provide “an opportunity for children to enjoy unique experiences in contact with nature… and develop healthy habits through play and physical activity.”
