Municipalities in Argentina enhance urban forestry management
Local governments in Argentina are implementing new initiatives to improve the management and maintenance of urban greenery. In Saladillo, the Municipality participated in the VII National Congress of Arboriculture and Urban Forests held in Posadas, Misiones. The event focused on the role of urban forests in climate regulation, scientific innovation in arboriculture, and public policy governance.
In San Fernando, a theoretical-practical course on public urban tree pruning concluded with 30 participants receiving certification. This training, conducted in collaboration with the National University of Catamarca, allows these individuals to join the Municipal Registry of Pruners. This expansion brings the total number of registered workers in the municipality to 52, aimed at ensuring safe and sustainable silvicultural interventions.
