Municipalities in Argentina launch new cultural tourism initiatives
Municipalities in Argentina are launching new initiatives to promote local tourism and cultural heritage. In San Miguel de Tucumán, the ‘Secret Treasures of SMT’ guided tour will launch on October 17. This monthly program, operated via the city’s Tourist Bus, aims to showcase sites outside the traditional circuit. The inaugural tour includes a visit to the Fundación del Bicentenario to view historical documents and artifacts, followed by an experience at the Vino Wassi private collection, featuring Tucumán wine tastings.
In Las Toscas, the ‘Tourist in my city’ circuit continues to engage students through the Subsecretariat of Tourism and the Subsecretariat of Culture and Education. The program has hosted over 200 students this year, guiding them through local monuments, the Municipal Council, the Judicial Circuit, and the local museum. The initiative seeks to strengthen the connection between younger generations and their local history, including visits to sites like Posada Los Búhos.
