Municipalities in Brazil inaugurate mental health facilities
In Paço do Lumiar, Mayor Fred Campos inaugurated a new Psychosocial Care Center for Children and Adolescents (CAPSi). Located on Avenida 14 do Maiobão, the facility is designed to provide specialized mental health assistance for children and teenagers, including those facing severe mental disorders or issues related to alcohol and drug use.
The new unit features air-conditioned environments, a playroom, medical offices, a pharmacy, and spaces for a multidisciplinary team. The inauguration was attended by local officials, including state deputy-elect Maedja Campos and municipal health secretary Ana Lúcia.
In Paty do Alferes, the municipal government completed renovations at the local Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS). The improvements targeted internal and external areas, including the cafeteria, workshop rooms, waiting areas, and the courtyard to enhance comfort and security for patients and staff.
Mayor Julinho Juju stated that the investment aims to strengthen the municipal health network and provide a more dignified and welcoming environment for mental health services.
