Municipalities in Brazil report educational and civic updates

In Cajazeiras, Education Secretary Joseane Maciel announced the theme for the upcoming Civic Parade on August 22, celebrating the city’s 163rd anniversary of political emancipation. The theme, ‘Paraíba, Homem e Sol, Reluz Primeiro’, will trace the history of Paraíba from João Pessoa to the Sertão and Cajazeiras. The event will feature enhanced visual elements and costumes inspired by Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo carnival techniques.

In Corumbá, municipal authorities reported an increase in literacy rates among students in the municipal school system. Data indicates that 49% of children are now literate, an 11 percentage point increase from the previous year's 38%. The local government plans to use these indicators to guide pedagogical planning and provide additional support, such as assistant teachers and interns, to schools facing greater challenges.
