Municipalities in Bulgaria and Croatia launch infrastructure projects
Municipalities in Bulgaria and Croatia are launching significant infrastructure projects funded largely by European Union resources to improve local living standards and utility reliability.
In Bulgaria, Maritsa Municipality has begun a €1.16 million reconstruction of the water supply network in Stroevo. The project aims to replace aging asbestos-cement pipes that are over 70 years old with a new feeder pipeline from the Trud pumping station and an updated internal network. The investment is supported by the Strategic Plan for Agricultural and Rural Development 2023–2027.
In Croatia, the Marčana Municipality is executing three major capital projects. These include the expansion of the Marčana Primary School and a new sports hall, the modernization of the water supply network in Krnica, Raklja, and Krasa, and the construction of a business incubator. These initiatives, supported by over €1.1 million in EU grants, are designed to improve education, enhance water security, and foster local entrepreneurship.
