Municipalities in Chile and Argentina update local services
Municipalities in Chile and Argentina are implementing administrative changes to improve local services. In Talca, Chile, the local government has opened a new Traffic Department office at the Alto Las Rastras shopping center. The initiative, titled “Tu tiempo importa”, aims to reduce wait times, allowing residents to complete driver's license renewals in an average of 40 minutes.
The new office handles first-time licenses, renewals, duplicates, and international exchanges. It also features a dedicated circuit for practical driving exams in the Las Rastras sector to prevent the need for travel to the city center. Mayor Juan Carlos Díaz stated the goal is to make municipal services faster and more efficient for working residents.
In Tolhuin, Argentina, the municipal government has restructured its security and prevention departments. Mayor Daniel Harrington announced the appointment of Ricardo Bucarey as the new Director of Traffic and Road Safety, moving from his previous role in Civil Defense. Additionally, Guido Albornoz has been appointed as the Director of Civil Defense. The restructuring is intended to strengthen coordinated efforts between departments to improve citizen security and emergency prevention.
