Municipalities in Ecuador and Mexico advance market renovation projects

Municipalities in Ecuador and Mexico are progressing with significant market infrastructure projects. In Puyo, Ecuador, heavy machinery has begun the demolition of the old Mariscal Market to make way for a new commercial facility. The project, which involves an investment of approximately USD 1 million, is expected to be completed by January 2027. Local officials noted that the project is utilizing local labor to stimulate the regional economy.

In Tizimín, Mexico, the remodeling of the municipal market has reached an estimated progress of 50% to 60%. Workers are currently focusing on meat, fruit, and vegetable areas, with plans to move to the food court in the second stage. The project is expected to conclude by late October, allowing for the removal of temporary stalls before the upcoming Feria de Reyes de Tizimín.
