Municipalities in Galicia invest in football field improvements

Local governments in the Pontevedra region of Spain are advancing projects to upgrade sports facilities. In Bueu, the City Council has reached a preliminary agreement with most landowners to purchase approximately 6,700 square meters of land. This acquisition, estimated to cost 314,000 euros, is intended to improve access to the A Graña football field and facilitate future expansions, including padel courts and parking areas.

In Nigrán, the City Council is investing nearly 600,000 euros to renovate artificial turf at several municipal fields. The Condomínguez field project, budgeted at 334,851 euros, includes the installation of FIFA-certified grass and drainage repairs, with 57 percent of the funding provided by the Diputación de Pontevedra. Additionally, 300,000 euros have been allocated for the Jorge Souto field to replace aging surfaces that have been in use for a decade.
