Municipalities in Greece and Turkey launch addiction prevention initiatives

The Gümülcine Municipality and the Orfeas Prevention Centre in Greece are collaborating to strengthen addiction prevention and psychosocial health. The partnership focuses on supporting children, adolescents, families, and the educational community through coordinated local services and public awareness campaigns.

In Turkey, the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has launched the “Future Building Simulation” program. This initiative engages young people in identifying challenges related to substance, alcohol, tobacco, gambling, and digital media addictions. The program aims to transform youth insights into actionable policy recommendations to create more effective, targeted prevention strategies.
