Municipalities in Hungary and Slovakia launch infrastructure projects

Municipalities in Hungary and Slovakia are undertaking significant infrastructure and maintenance projects. In Dunaújváros, Hungary, a large-scale urban cleaning and maintenance operation has commenced, starting in the Technikum district. Approximately thirty specialists are working to prune trees, mow grass, remove overgrown bushes, collect waste, and repair damaged benches. Local officials have emphasized the importance of community cooperation to ensure the success of these beautification efforts.

In Komárom, Slovakia, a major energy and technical renovation of the city police station building is set to begin in the second week of September. The project, costing 303,000 euros, aims to modernize the facility and improve energy efficiency. Key upgrades include full external thermal insulation, the installation of new windows and doors, and a modernized heating system utilizing air-to-water heat pumps and a condensing gas boiler. Additionally, the building will feature LED lighting and solar panels on the roof. The renovation is expected to reduce primary energy consumption by over 80 percent and decrease carbon dioxide emissions by 89 percent.
