Municipalities in Mexico and Argentina announce support for elderly residents

Municipal governments in Mexico and Argentina have announced new initiatives to support elderly populations.

In Texcoco, Mexico, Mayor Nazario Gutiérrez Martínez delivered a building to the “Aires de Juventud” group in the El Tejocote community. The facility is intended to provide a safe and appropriate space for the group's activities.

In Esteban Echeverría, Argentina, Mayor Fernando Gray announced a total tax exemption for retirees aged 75 and older. Effective January 1, 2027, the measure applies to property owners whose total monthly income does not exceed the equivalent of two minimum pensions. The exemption covers various local taxes, including general services, public works, health and security services, and vehicle patents, provided the individual owns only one permanent residence.
