Municipalities in Mexico hold open council sessions for citizen participation

In Cuautitlán Izcalli, Mayor Daniel Serrano Palacios led a public council session in the Ampliación La Quebrada neighborhood to facilitate dialogue between authorities and residents. During the meeting, officials reported progress on road rehabilitation, specifically on Playa Caleta and Playa Abierta streets, alongside ongoing maintenance of public spaces and increased security presence. Residents from surrounding communities requested continued pothole repair programs and the recovery of community spaces for youth development.

In Atizapán de Zaragoza, Mayor Pedro Rodríguez Villegas convened an open council session where citizens presented various community initiatives. Proposals included improving services for senior citizens at the Treasury office, such as providing shaded seating and water, and the construction of a linear park to support physical activity and community cohesion. Additionally, residents proposed the creation of a maker classroom at the Pioneros del Cooperativismo school to promote practical learning for students.
