Municipalities in Portugal and Brazil complete public infrastructure projects

In Portugal, the Mayor of Lagoa, Frederico Sousa, has inaugurated the revitalized D. Amélia Botelho Faria e Maia Square in the parish of Cabouco. The project involved renewing the pavement, creating green zones, installing new urban furniture, and improving lighting to enhance energy efficiency and mobility. The renovation also included the demolition of an old bandstand to make way for a new covered stage designed for community events, as well as improvements to the local playground and existing buildings.

In Brazil, the municipality of Lagoa Dourada is returning its administrative building to public use following a revitalization investment of approximately R$ 384,813. The building had been evacuated since January 2023 due to structural issues, including wall cracks and drainage problems, forcing the local legislature to operate via home office. The renovated space will now house various municipal sectors, including health and education, and will serve as the headquarters for the legislature.
