Municipalities in Prozor-Rama and Sinj face budget and political disputes

In Prozor-Rama, concerns have been raised regarding the municipality's budget execution for the first half of 2026. Analysis indicates a heavy reliance on hydroelectricity fees, which accounted for 4.18 million KM out of 8.84 million KM in total revenue, while tax revenues reached only 2.06 million KM. Critics noted a lack of progress in key development areas, reporting zero realization for planned funds intended for employment incentives, water and sewage networks, fire stations, and cadastral projects.

In Sinj, the City Council rejected a proposed budget rebalance submitted by Mayor Miro Bulj. The original budget was valued at 25.4 million euros. The rejection highlights political friction within the governing majority, specifically between the Mayor's party and the HDZ/Independent List coalition. The Mayor accused the council of blocking urban development, including kindergartens and sports facilities, while council members criticized the Mayor's management and refused to fund expenditures such as buses for protests and cash Christmas bonuses without receipts.
