Municipalities in Santa Cruz and Petorca enhance local security measures

The Santa Cruz de la Sierra Mayor's Office is allocating approximately Bs 5 million annually to support police operations. This funding, managed under Law 264 of Citizen Security, covers the acquisition of vehicles, motorcycles, and computing equipment. Additionally, the municipality has signed a contract with a service station to guarantee fuel supplies for neighborhood patrols.

In conjunction with these resources, municipal operations are being conducted in the Los Pozos sector to clear sidewalks, recover public spaces, and identify locations where stolen goods are allegedly sold. These operations are expected to expand to Plan 3000 and La Ramada.

In Petorca, the municipality has implemented a preventive patrolling project with an investment exceeding $74 million. Funded by the Undersecretariat of Crime Prevention and the local government, the initiative includes the acquisition of a 4x4 vehicle equipped with high-standard personal protection, radio transmitters, and other deterrent tools. The project aims to strengthen security presence in both urban areas and remote rural localities.
