Municipalities in São Paulo hold conferences on children's rights
Municipalities in the North Coast of São Paulo are conducting conferences to strengthen public policies for children and adolescents.
In Ubatuba, the Foundation for Children and Adolescents (Fundac) participated in the 13th Conference of the Rights of Children and Adolescents. Organized by the Municipal Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (CMDCA) in partnership with the local government, the event focused on building proposals to bolster youth-oriented policies. Fundac president Alendri Marconi emphasized that protecting children is a shared responsibility among health, education, and social assistance sectors, noting that institutional care should remain an exceptional measure aimed at preserving family and community ties.
Meanwhile, Caraguatatuba is holding pre-conferences between October 1 and October 9 across its North, Central, and South regions. These meetings serve as preparatory steps for the 8th Municipal Conference scheduled for October 20. The initiative aims to foster social participation and collective proposal building, allowing residents, civil society organizations, and public officials to identify community demands and improve local protection networks.
