Municipalities in Spain and Colombia launch parenting workshops

Local governments in Meis, Spain, and Rionegro, Colombia, are implementing educational programs designed to support families in navigating modern parenting challenges.

In Meis, the municipal service of Education and Family Support is hosting a three-day 'Escola de Familias' throughout November. Aimed at caregivers of children aged 0 to 12, the sessions will cover topics such as managing expectations, different parenting styles, limits, routines, and the transition to adolescence. The program also focuses on promoting equality in caregiving and managing screen time.

Rionegro is conducting its Second Municipal School for Parents under the theme 'Growing Together: Changes and Challenges Faced by Families.' Led by family therapist Isabel Cristina Bernal Vélez, the initiative provides tools for strengthening family bonds, improving communication, and addressing the impact of social media and digital screens on children and adolescents.
