Municipalities in Spain launch infrastructure and smart city tenders
The Eibar City Council has approved a contract tender for the installation of the first elevator in the Jardiñeta neighborhood. The project, valued at 1,001,964.70 euros including VAT, aims to improve accessibility for residents of buildings 33 and 35, which currently require navigating stairs to overcome a 7.70-meter elevation difference. The planned elevator will have an eight-person capacity and is expected to be completed within six months.
In Las Gabias, Granada, the local government has opened a tender for a Smart City strategy with a base budget of 817,282.53 euros. This initiative focuses on road safety and intelligent mobility by integrating video surveillance for traffic management, illuminated pedestrian crossings, and sensors to monitor parking spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility. The system will utilize fiber optics and radio links to connect cameras and sensors to the Local Police control center.
