Municipalities in Spain renovate local parks and playgrounds
Local governments in Spain are investing in the renovation of public green spaces and recreational areas. In Ronda, the municipal council has completed a 60,000 euro expansion and renovation of the El Fuerte neighborhood playground. The project more than doubled the area from 100 to 220 square meters, introduced a flower-themed decorative style, and added five new trees to provide natural shade. The works also included updating urban furniture and perimeter fencing.
In Colmenar Viejo, the Parque del Oeste is undergoing a major transformation with a budget of approximately 1.73 million euros. The six-month project aims to modernize paths, gardens, and sports facilities. Key improvements include the creation of inclusive play areas, a second children's zone integrated among trees, a water play area, and an expanded canine zone. The renovation also focuses on improving accessibility by renewing pavements to reduce barriers throughout the park.
