Municipalities install defibrillators, creating cardioprotected zones

The community of Montes in Baredo has installed an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in its cultural centre, turning the area into a cardioprotected zone. The device can be moved to other venues, and training courses on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the Heimlich maneuver will begin in September for local residents.

In Huatulco, Oaxaca, the municipal government led by Ing. Julio Cárdenas Ortega held a training session on AED use for city staff. An AED placed in the municipal palace now supports emergency cardiac care, reinforcing the city’s commitment to pre‑hospital health protection.

Both initiatives aim to improve rapid response to cardiac emergencies and raise public awareness of life‑saving procedures.
