Municipalities launch road infrastructure and repaving projects

Local governments in Huixquilucan and Huelva have announced infrastructure projects aimed at improving urban mobility and road quality.

In Huixquilucan, Mayor Romina Contreras Carrasco announced the repaving of Avenida 5 de Mayo in Santiago Yancuitlalpan. The project involves replacing asphalt with hydraulic concrete across more than 6,000 square meters. The works include sidewalk marking and speed bump installation to improve transit for vehicles and pedestrians while increasing durability against rainy seasons.

In Huelva, the 2026 Municipal Asphalt Plan is expanding to the historic center, specifically targeting Avenida de Alemania and Santo Domingo de la Calzada. This initiative is part of a larger €2.3 million investment covering approximately 50 streets. Mayor Pilar Miranda noted that the improvements are designed to enhance safety and quality of life. To minimize traffic disruption, some works are being conducted at night.
