Municipalities launch road safety and driver education programs

Municipalities in Argentina and Uruguay are implementing road safety education programs to improve driving awareness and social inclusion.

In Bella Vista, Argentina, transit agents are launching a series of training activities. These include a seminar for senior students at the Escuela Normal to prepare them for future driving responsibilities, as well as specialized training for municipal agents and safe driving workshops at the INTA. The initiative is supported by the Corrientes Province Subsecretariat of Transport and aims to address risky behaviors observed among young motorcyclists.

In Florida, Uruguay, the local Transit Directorate and the Escuelita de Tránsito recently awarded certificates to approximately 17 young people from the Puertas Abiertas Center. The program, consisting of 10 workshops on safety and regulations, aimed to provide the necessary knowledge for participants to obtain driver's licenses and promote social inclusion by overcoming economic barriers.
