Municipalities suspend waste collection for national holidays

Municipalities in Mexico and Chile have announced temporary suspensions of waste collection services due to upcoming national holidays.

In San Andrés Cholula, Mexico, the local government announced that garbage collection will be suspended on September 16. Authorities have requested that citizens refrain from placing waste on public roads during this time to prevent accumulation in streets and public spaces. Service is expected to resume according to established municipal schedules.

In San Felipe, Chile, municipal administrator Cristian Aravena confirmed that there will be no waste collection on Friday, September 18, in observance of the national holiday. The suspension respects the mandatory rest period for collection company workers. Normal service is scheduled to resume on September 19 and 20. Officials have urged residents to be responsible and wait for their scheduled collection days to avoid the creation of illegal micro-dumps caused by animals scattering bags.
