Municipality of Athens launches digital Ring Zone Card service
The Municipality of Athens, through DAEM S.A., has launched a new digital service for the issuance of the special Ring Zone Card. This initiative transitions the entire application and management process into a fully electronic environment.
Under the new system, eligible applicants can submit their requests and necessary supporting documentation online, eliminating the need for physical presence. Once an application is reviewed and approved by the municipal authorities, the digital card is issued via the platform. The card includes a unique QR Code to allow authorities to verify its validity.
Eligibility is strictly limited to permanent residents of the Municipality of Athens whose primary residence is located within the Ring Zone. To qualify, the residence must be listed as the primary home on the applicant's E1 tax form, regardless of whether the property is owned, rented, or hosted. Residents living abroad who file taxes through the Tax Office for Residents Abroad are not eligible for this specific card.
