Municipality of Bar allocates funds for prenatal testing
The Municipality of Bar has launched its second public call to provide financial support for non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT). A total of 19,095 euros has been allocated for this round of co-financing, part of a larger 30,000 euro budget dedicated to the Local Plan for Social and Child Protection and Social Inclusion.
Following a first call that supported 21 beneficiaries with 10,905 euros, this new allocation aims to improve local pronatalist policies and make modern testing methods more accessible. Individual subsidies are capped at 850 euros per person.
Eligibility is determined by socio-economic factors, such as employment status and household income, as well as medical criteria, including family history, ultrasound findings, or previous pregnancy complications. The funds cover tests performed within nine months of the award or those completed up to 12 months prior to the call.
