Municipality of Calci receives FSC and PEFC forest certifications

The Municipality of Calci has received FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certifications for responsible and sustainable forest management. As the manager of approximately 650 hectares of the Monti Pisani-Pisa regional forest estate, the municipality underwent rigorous verification by CSI Spa.

The certification covers forestry activities conducted in the territories of Calci, Buti, and Vicopisano. Mayor Valentina Ricotta stated that the achievement confirms the administration's commitment to the sustainable management of the state forest heritage. The Tuscany Region is actively promoting such certifications through administrative planning and incentive criteria for the forestry sector.
