Municipality of Centar clears illegal landfills and weather debris
The Municipality of Centar is conducting weekend operations to clear illegal landfills and address debris left by recent severe weather. Municipal teams are utilizing two excavators and two trucks to clean areas including Krnjevo, Madžir Maalo, and Novo Maalo.
Mayor Goran Gerasimovski has issued an appeal to the public utility companies JP Komunalna Higijena and JP Parkovi i Zelenilo, urging them to perform their scheduled duties. Gerasimovski noted that while the municipality is intervening to resolve citizen complaints regarding waste and fallen greenery, it cannot permanently assume the responsibilities of other institutions. He emphasized that citizens should not be held hostage by jurisdictional disputes between agencies.
The municipality continues to respond to daily complaints regarding uncleaned public surfaces and accumulated waste, while also requesting that residents refrain from creating new illegal dumpsites in recently cleared areas.
