Municipality of Elis granted 20-year use of Kouroutas Square

The Municipality of Elis has been granted the free use of Kouroutas Square for a period of 20 years following the publication of Government Gazette 5460/B/09.09.2026. The 12,145-square-meter area, which was previously under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, is now officially managed by the municipality.

This decision resolves a long-standing administrative issue that had limited the municipality's ability to plan long-term improvements. With this concession, the Municipality of Elis assumes responsibility for the repair, renovation, and maintenance of the square. Local authorities intend to use this strategic location to enhance the area's tourism infrastructure and promote development within the coastal zone.
