Municipality of Florina implements construction waste regulations

The Municipality of Florina has implemented a strict framework for the management of construction and demolition waste (CDW) to protect the environment and public health. Under the Cleanliness Regulation, the disposal of materials such as bricks, gypsum, polystyrene, and wood in household waste bins or public spaces like roads, sidewalks, and streams is strictly prohibited.

For small-scale repairs producing up to 20 kilograms of waste, citizens must contact the Collection Department to schedule an appointment. These deposits are permitted only on working days from Monday to Thursday. For large-scale construction projects requiring a permit, the project owner or contractor is solely responsible for waste management, which must be handled through an approved Alternative Management System and licensed carriers.
