Municipality of Florina receives health award and approves student travel subsidies

The Municipality of Florina has received an honorary distinction at the 21st congress of the Greek Inter-Municipal Network of Healthy Cities held in Edessa. Mayor Vasilis Giannakis stated that the award recognizes the collective efforts of the local administration to strengthen social care, promote public health, and improve the quality of life for residents.

In a separate local development, the Florina Municipal Council unanimously approved a subsidy for unlimited travel student cards for students attending the University of Western Macedonia. This initiative, proposed by Mayor Giannakis in collaboration with the Region of Western Macedonia and local bus services, aims to support the student population as a vital pillar of local development during the region's post-lignite transition period.
