Municipality of Ioannina approves 1.04 million euro stadium upgrade

The Municipality of Ioannina has approved a study for the upgrade of the Stavrakia Sports Center, with a proposed budget of 1.04 million euros. The project aims to modernize the football stadium by installing a latest-generation synthetic turf, creating a new drainage and irrigation network, installing LED lighting, and adding new sports equipment and fencing.

The municipality intends to submit this proposal to the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports as part of the 2026-2030 Sectoral Development Program. This initiative follows a previous funding provision of 2.2 million euros intended for the completion of the Kardamitsia Sports Center.
