Municipality of Ioannina approves 20,500 euros for local sports clubs

The Municipality of Ioannina has approved a total credit of 20,500 euros to support six local amateur sports clubs for activities scheduled between October and December 2026.

The largest portion of the funding, 12,500 euros, is allocated to PAS Giannina (Panepiridiko Athlitiko Syllogo Giannina). This represents the first phase of financial support from the municipality to the club following recent agreements with its administration. Mayor Thomas Begas stated that the municipality is committed to supporting the club’s new efforts within the existing institutional framework.

The remaining funds are distributed among several other organizations: 2,000 euros each to Pyrros Amea Ioannina and the Ioannina Basketball Club; 1,500 euros each to Aris Ioannina and the Ioannina Fencing Academy; and 1,000 euros to the Pamvotis Amateur Fishermen's Sports Club.
