Municipality of Kalavryta approves monthly allowance for educators

The Kalavryta Municipal Council has unanimously approved a monthly financial incentive of 100 euros for educators serving in schools within the municipality. The measure aims to support staff who relocate to the mountainous region and face increased living, housing, and commuting expenses.

The subsidy is expected to benefit approximately 40 to 45 educators. Eligible recipients include primary and secondary education teachers, substitute teachers, newly appointed teachers with up to five years of service, seconded teachers, and members of both Special Educational Personnel (EEP) and Special Assistant Personnel (EVP).

A key requirement for eligibility is that the educators must serve in a school within the municipal boundaries of Kalavryta and must not own a residence within the municipality. The initiative is intended to provide an incentive to ensure schools in the mountainous area are adequately staffed.
