Municipality of Kassandra removes illegal beach equipment

The Municipality of Kassandra is conducting organized operations to remove illegally placed equipment, such as umbrellas and sun loungers, from beaches and public spaces. These actions follow complaints and inspections conducted by the Hellenic Police, the Land Service, and the Ministry of Tourism.

To ensure clarity for residents and visitors, including those from the Balkans, informational notices are provided in Greek, English, and Slavic languages. The municipality has clarified that equipment removed by municipal services will not be returned to its owners; instead, items are sent to licensed recycling facilities.

Interventions have already taken place in six locations, including Mola Kalyva, Nea Skioni, Kallithea, Chanioti, and the coastal zone between Kryopigi and Polychrono. The municipality intends to continue these operations in other areas to protect public access to the coastline and ensure compliance with current legislation.
