Municipality of Meteora receives new firefighting vehicles

The Municipality of Meteora has received three new 4x4 pick-up vehicles equipped with firefighting gear to enhance its civil protection capabilities. These vehicles are the first to be delivered under the ‘Thessaly 2021-2027’ program, which provides funding through the Region of Thessaly to strengthen regional emergency response.

The municipality has secured a total of 400,000 euros for the procurement of six 4x4 vehicles, with the remaining three expected to be delivered in the near future. The handover ceremony took place in Kalabaka, attended by the Regional Governor of Thessaly, Dimitris Kouretas, and the Mayor of Meteora, Lefteris Avramopoulos.

During the event, Governor Kouretas emphasized the importance of coordination between the region, local municipalities, and the fire service, noting that effective civil protection requires planning, organization, and constant operational readiness.
