Municipality of Mocoretá adopts rescued pitbull Fiona
Fiona, a pitbull rescued from a case of alleged animal abuse, has been officially adopted by the Municipality of Mocoretá in Corrientes, Argentina.
The rescue followed a precautionary measure ordered by the Monte Caseros Court of Guarantees, acting on a prosecutor's request to protect two dogs investigated for mistreatment. Veterinary reports indicated that Fiona suffered from malnutrition and eye infections.
Following the judicial intervention, Fiona was placed at the Mocoretá Municipal Nursery to serve as a temporary shelter. Due to her rapid adaptation to the environment, the local government decided to adopt her permanently. She now resides at the nursery, where she is cared for by municipal staff and interacts with visitors.
