Municipality of Penteli orders Anubis K9 Team to vacate facilities

The Municipality of Penteli has issued a legal notice to the Anubis Coldcase K9 Team, ordering the research group to vacate its facilities in Penteli by September 7. The group, which specializes in training Malinois dogs for search and rescue, gained significant recognition for its role in locating human remains following the Tempi train tragedy.

The municipality stated that the eviction is a necessary measure to comply with the terms of a land concession agreement with the Holy Monastery of the Dormition of the Mother of God of Penteli. According to the administration, the agreement stipulates that the land is provided to the municipality exclusively for its own needs and prohibits the transfer of the property, in whole or in part, to any third party.

Representatives of Anubis Coldcase K9 noted that the group had been using the space since February 2025 with the consent of both the monastery and the municipality. The group’s work includes assisting in numerous missing persons investigations and serving as forensic experts in judicial proceedings.
