Municipio 4 launches heritage project to promote local history and culture

The “Tra natura e cultura” project is entering its third edition, focusing on the historical, archaeological, and cultural identity of Municipio 4. Scheduled for November and December, the initiative aims to promote local heritage and strengthen community belonging through guided tours and educational activities.

Key highlights include visits to the Santa Candida rock basilica, the Caravelle rock settlement, Lama Picone, and Lama Baronale. The program also features paths to discover ancient oil mills and ovens in Carbonara, Ceglie del Campo, and Loseto. Additionally, events will be held at the Buterrito necropolis, an archaeological area covering approximately 6,000 square meters.

To engage younger residents, the project includes workshops on the Mediterranean diet and local products, such as bread, extra virgin olive oil, and almonds, combined with traditional music and tastings.
