Munster defeat Leinster 39-19 in Women's Interprovincial Championship opener

Munster secured a 39-19 victory against Leinster in the opening match of the Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championship at Virgin Media Park. Defending champions Munster were led by a standout performance from Beth Buttimer, who scored four tries and was named Player of the Match.

Munster's scoring was supplemented by tries from Alana McInerney, Eilís Cahill, and debutant Katie Corrigan. Leinster, under new coach Sana Govender, responded with tries from captain Sarah Delaney, Erin King, and Hannah Wilson, but were unable to close the gap created by Munster's dominant pack.

Following this win, Munster prepares to host Ulster, while Leinster will face Connacht in the second round of the tournament. The championship final is scheduled for August 29 in Galway.
