Munsyid Malaysia President highlights radio role in nasyid industry

Muhammad Hazamin Harun, President of the Malaysian Nasyid Entrepreneurs Council (Munsyid Malaysia), stated that radio remains a vital component in sustaining the Malaysian nasyid ecosystem. Despite the growing dominance of digital platforms and streaming services, he emphasized that radio possesses a unique strength in introducing musical works, building listener acceptance, and connecting artists with broader audiences.

Hazamin expressed appreciation for local radio stations that continue to provide space for nasyid and Islamic music. He highlighted IKIMfm for providing a special three-hour slot featuring the group Hijjaz and their protégés for the ‘Hijjaz 3 Dekad: Rindu Sumayyah’ concert. He also noted support from the Astro radio network, specifically ZAYAN through the ‘Inteam Take Over’ program, and SalamFM for its dedicated nasyid charts.

He concluded that while digital channels offer new ways to reach the public, radio serves as a crucial medium for media recognition of the contributions made by nasyid artists to the national music industry.
