Muon Space raises $250M at $1.5B valuation to scale satellite production

Muon Space has secured $250 million in Series C financing, bringing the satellite manufacturer's valuation to $1.5 billion. The funding round was led by Eclipse Capital, with participation from Google, Salesforce Ventures, and several other investment firms.

The company intends to use the capital to expand its manufacturing capabilities at its San Jose, California, facility. Muon Space aims to scale production to manufacture up to 500 small satellites annually by 2027. This expansion is part of a strategy to provide complete spacecraft solutions, including payloads and software, rather than just satellite buses.

Muon Space currently reports a 100 percent mission success rate with 11 satellites in orbit. The company maintains a production backlog of over 50 satellites for commercial, civil, and defense customers, with 13 satellites already scheduled for launch within the next year.
