Muramvya: Local community and political developments
In Muramvya, Burundi, several local initiatives and community engagements have been reported. The Karyenda culture drumming group, which secured first place in the Muramvya commune competitions, is preparing for the provincial competition in Gitega. To support their preparations, communal administrator Eric Nkurunziza visited the group on Masango hill and provided new equipment, including drums and uniforms.
In the Bugarama district, the Twijukire Uburimyi n’Ubworozi cooperative is undertaking infrastructure projects, including the construction of a four-kilometer road to connect National Route 2 to various activity sites. The cooperative aims to facilitate the transport of agricultural goods and livestock feed, reducing the need for residents to carry heavy loads manually. The organization has also committed to providing decent housing for low-income residents.
Additionally, Euphrem Gahungu, the CNDD-FDD communal secretary for Muramvya, met with Imbonerakure youth studying at universities in Bujumbura. During the visit, Gahungu encouraged the students to maintain discipline and academic excellence, emphasizing their role in the nation's future.
