Murat and Derya Firat acquire tobacco shop in Borculo

Murat and Derya Firat have completed the takeover of a well-known tobacco and wine shop located at the Veemarkt in Borculo. The previous owner, Gea Berendsen, had prepared for a permanent closure after a year-long search for a successor failed, but the acquisition by the Firat family from The Hague occurred at the last moment.

The new business, to be named ‘De Tabakse Hoek’, will undergo a change in direction due to strict new regulations. While existing stock of greeting cards and regional items will be sold off, the shop will focus exclusively on tobacco products, accessories, the Dutch Lottery, and daily newspapers. Murat Firat will hold the business name, while Derya Firat will manage daily operations.
