Murat Boz discusses career shift from football to music

Turkish pop singer Murat Boz shared insights into his life and career during an appearance on Feyyaz Uçar’s YouTube program. Boz revealed that he played football until the age of 17, but his career path shifted toward music due to his mother’s guidance after he was accepted into a fine arts high school.

Boz discussed the physical toll of his continued passion for amateur football, noting that a doctor informed him his knee cartilage was more worn down than that of professional players due to frequent amateur matches.

Reflecting on his professional milestones, Boz credited his time as a vocalist for Tarkan as a major turning point. He also highlighted the significant impact of media mogul Acun Ilıcalı, whom he described as a brother figure, noting that Ilıcalı’s belief in him was instrumental during his early television career. Additionally, Boz noted that his role as a judge on ‘O Ses Türkiye’ provided him with a unique level of recognition and connection with Turkish families.
