CHP and new political movement enter legal dispute over funds

The Republican People's Party (CHP) is initiating legal action and debt enforcement proceedings against members of a newly formed political movement. The dispute centers on over 5 million Turkish Liras allegedly transferred from the CHP parliamentary group treasury to the new party under the guise of donations.

Approximately 91 members of the new movement, including Özgür Özel, have reportedly refused to return the funds despite receiving formal notices. The CHP management has set a seven-day deadline for repayment before commencing enforcement proceedings.

Additional allegations suggest that the signatures of 138 deputies were used without their knowledge or authorization during this process. The conflict follows previous tensions regarding the transfer of assets and property from CHP provincial and district offices during the formation of the new party.
