Murat Kaçar wins 98th athletics medal at age 80

Murat Kaçar, an 80-year-old pediatrician from İnegöl, Bursa, has extended his 64-year athletics career by winning a bronze medal in high jump at the World Masters Athletics Championships in Daegu, South Korea.

Kaçar, who began running in high school in 1962 and previously captained the Galatasaray athletics team, has now amassed a total of 98 medals throughout his career. His achievements include multiple European championships in France, Germany, and Spain, as well as world championship titles and runner-up finishes in South Korea, the United States, Finland, and Poland.

In addition to his international success, Kaçar has set records in the 60-meter hurdles, including a Balkan record and a Turkish national record set in Slovenia.
