Murat Kurum presents COP31 Action Agenda at the United Nations

Murat Kurum, the President of COP31 and Turkey’s Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, has officially presented the COP31 Action Agenda at the United Nations in New York. The agenda is built upon the principles of ‘dialogue, consensus, and action’ and aims to transform shared climate goals into concrete applications.

The framework includes 10 priority themes, 6 global goals, 11 initiatives, and 13 supporting outputs. During the launch event held as part of New York Climate Week, Kurum emphasized a vision for an ‘Implementation COP,’ focusing on moving from climate commitments to measurable field results. He highlighted the need to address challenges regarding access to finance, capacity shortages, and the integration of technology and investment with local needs.

The event included high-level participation from international officials, including UN Climate Change Executive Secretary Simon Stiell and UN Deputy Secretary-General Selwin Hart, alongside representatives from various ministries and international financial institutions.
