Murat Sağlam enters Turkey on 4,500km inline skating journey

Athlete Murat Sağlam has entered Turkey via the İpsala border crossing after traveling from Frankfurt, Germany, on inline skates. His journey, which began on July 25, 2026, spans approximately 4,500 kilometers across 10 countries, with the final destination set as Anıtkabir in Ankara.

While originally intended as a world record attempt, Sağlam stated that the mission has evolved into a symbolic bridge for hope, friendship, and peace. He aims to foster real-world connections beyond social media and encourage children to believe in themselves through discipline and sports. Alongside his coach, Mikail Yılmaz, he also works to organize camps to support the development of young athletes.
