Murat Uçar opens micro-art exhibition in Budapest

The ‘Detaylarda Saklı Dostluk’ (Friendship Hidden in Details) micro-art exhibition has opened at the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center in Budapest. The exhibition features works by Murat Uçar, a lecturer at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, who has specialized in micro-art for approximately 20 years.

Uçar’s works are created on extremely small surfaces, often measuring only 5 to 7 millimeters, such as on watches, jewelry, and pens. To illustrate the scale, the artist compared his work to being one-thousandth the size of Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. The pieces explore themes ranging from historical figures to cultural symbols, aiming to represent the historical and cultural ties between Turkey and Hungary.

The opening event was attended by the Turkish Ambassador to Budapest, Gülsun Erkul. Uçar noted that his artistic journey began with painting inside watches and has since evolved into creating specialized protocol gifts for world leaders, politicians, and athletes.
